Line reactors
|
The use of electronically controlled AC & DC drives, rectifiers, inverters, AC converters and switched mode power supplies is now widespread through industry. Unfortunately, the switching techniques used in many of these devices results in unwanted harmonics being reflected into the mains, often resulting interference to other equipment and excessively high neutral currents. It is not uncommon for neutral currents to be greater than twice the line current, even in a balanced 3 phase system. One means of attenuating harmonic distortion is through the use of line reactors, or chokes, that impede harmonic current. Practical Control Solutions now offers a range of line reactors for industrial use. These line reactors can be supplied as a bare open unit or as a fully enclosed assembly suitable for retrofitting to existing installations. Please contact us for more details.
